The venue’s secured, wedding dress is ready for fitting, the bridesmaids dresses are ordered, they’ve completed bridal registries, and she completed the in-class time for Driver’s Ed. And she’s finally taking my advice and approaching folks for help with photography, decorations, cake, etc., which is really taking a load off. [If you’re reading this, Thank you.]
We have our invitation supplies, text, and addresses, so this week’s plan is to start card-making. None of us are crafters, so this could end up like an episode of the Three Stooges! Nyuck, Nyuck! I’ll keep you posted. 😉
Oh! They got their first wedding gift: cookies made especially for them in wedding shapes and in their colors—which happen to be cream, tea-rose, and sage. Yeah, sorta springy for an October wedding, but it’s “what she’s always wanted.”
On a personal level, the young couple is working through all this (with the help of Expediter-Mom) quite well. ….All the while wishing they could just be married. NOW. But during this time, they’re learning about each other, family, finances, patience, commitment, obedience, and more. Each week, it seems, there’s a new breakthrough—emotionally, psychologically, or spiritually. They’re facing the surprises, stresses, and snags—together. I’m thankful to witness an event so excellent: a man and woman being joined together as one.
