The Sky Is Falling! (For Real)

Tonight’s headline:  “Economic Uncertainty Leading to Global Unrest.”  Eight countries were detailed as experiencing protests or rioting related to the economy—all while war continues to rage in the Middle East.

The Lord warned us this would happen:

And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.  –Matthew 24:10-13

Now would be a very good time to get right with God.  That warning was part of a description of the end.  Do you want to be among those who mourn, or those who are gathered?

Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.  –Matthew 24:30-31

Ever told a lie? Ever stolen anything? Ever used God’s name in vain? Listen to your conscience. If you are guilty of these, then God sees you as a lying, thieving blasphemer. That means eternity in hell.  Picture yourself sentenced to a million dollar fine, and someone pays your fine. That’s what Jesus did: He took your punishment (defeating death).

God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  –Romans 5:8

Turn from sin and place your faith in Jesus Christ alone to save you.  God will grant you eternal life.  Don’t wait until tomorrow.  Take a look around: you may not have another day.

Thankyou, dear sister, for this reminder to be soberly watchful for the end does indeed seem to be at hand. Like a woman in labor whose birth pains grow greater and stronger and with more frequency so these times also seem to be. People must repent for today is the day of salvation. If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive our sins. Praise the Lord for His mercy is great!
