If They Only Knew

If they only knew

How tired you are—

How fearful; how puzzled; how bored—

They’d listen to you

Whenever you speak;

And they’d offer up prayer to the Lord.

= – = – =

If people could see

You furrow your brow—

And hide all the tears that you cry—

They’d offer blessing,

And they’d comfort,

Sincerely—or at least they would try.

= – = – =

If someone could guess

Each of those thoughts

That pummel your brain night and day—

They’d open the Word

And bring you peace—

Together you’d both find a way.

= – = – =

But they do not know

How tired you are—

How fearful; how puzzled; how bored—

Because you don’t say;

You keep it all in—

(If you told them, they would be floored!)

= – = – =

Go find a friend!

Someone you love—

And tell him or her all your woes.

I think you will find,

Both will be blessed;

Trust me!  See how it goes!

= – = – =

In the meantime,

Take it to God—

Believe that He knows your very heart.

Before you begin,

Confess your sin—

Jesus: The Only Place to start.

= – = – =

Then take my advice:

Be a good friend.

Ask others, too, to make their burdens known.

Sharing our lives—

What a concept!

Who knew?  We don’t have to go it alone!

    Amen! and AMEN!! I am NEVER too busy to be told, and I would NOT be floored. Know that I do pray for you often! Don’t go it alone!

    I second your comment, Tamz, and ditto on the ditto, Elsie….is that redundant? LOL! 🙂 Well, I meant it to be, as they say, that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it! 😉

    There’s nothing new under the sun….right? anyway. it would require creativeness to be original…of which I am in short supply…hehe!
