The population density in Tokyo is 7,000 people per square kilometer.  In these here parts, that equates to 14 people on half an acre.  On our half acre, there are only five of us.

We raise our kids for 18-plus years.  That’s a long time!  Why, then, does it seem like it goes by so fast?

In Japan, 65 percent of the elderly live with their adult offspring.  In the U.S., the number dwindles to a 14 percent.

On the “corruption scale” (10 being clean), the Aussies own with a 9-plus.  Good-ON-ya, Mates!   The U.S. is a 7.2.  Much of the world came in at 2’s and 3’s. 

PERSPECTIVE: Yes, there are definitely worse places to live than the United States of America!  YEAH!

How about fatties?  The skinniest are Japan and South Korea (3.2% are overweight).  Tipping the scales at No. 1, you guessed it: U.S.!  (30%)  Worldwide, 14% is the “Weighted Average” (pardon the pun).

PERSPECTIVE: Eat Kim Chee.  Your friends will scatter, but hey: You’ll Look Maahhh-velous.

  1. Hooo baby, you are RIGHT about the kimchi! In hubby’s Army days, I worked with a fellow who ate kimchi regularly….oh I disliked it when he came into my office for something! Whew!! When hubby spent his year in Korea, he ate it and he actually liked it. It just smells awful when your body exudes the odor of it. True dat. 😉
