Life is like a box of chocolates: Some days, it’s a surprise in every bite! Other days, it’s just little piles of brown stuff.
C’est la vie (That’s life). Get used to it: Stuff Happens.
This last 24 hours had a major whiff. Partway through, I offered my standard: “I guess this is what being a family is all about: the good, the bad, and the ugly.” [Yes, I do use that phrase every six months.]
1/2/12’s lessons are still gellin’, but I already got this: “Life is 10% of what happens to you, and 90% of how you respond to it.” Life is imperfect. When those imperfections occur, most of us do a knee-jerk. Take your pick: cussing, grousing, or crying. After that initial minute, though, a quick reality check is in order. For starters, remember the Cross.
…. Yup, that should do it. If that fails (which it shouldn’t, but…):
How important is this in the grand scheme of things?
Can I just move on?
Who has it worse today than I do?
How do I fix it?
Do I need to apologize? Forgive?
What would Mom do? 😉
So—now that I’ve sorted through the events of this last day, I can’t help but giggle sheepishly. On this Blog two days ago, I threw out the gauntlet to 2012: “Anything you’ve got, bring it.”
Well, … …I didn’t mean all in one day.
= – = – =Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. Romans 3:10 There is none righteous, no, not one Matthew 28:20b lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
