My Testimony in One Minute

MY TESTIMONY (In One Minute)

I’m in my 50s, and have believed in Christ as my Savior for 30 years.

Growing up, I did not know anything of God’s Word.  In my mid-20’s, I ran into a high school friend who mentioned a Bible study; I asked if I could go.  Over the ensuing weeks, I actually became irritated that I did not pick up things the way others in the study did.  So, on the bus to work I began reading my tiny Gideons Bible, focusing on the book of Hebrews.

God used this daily reading, that weekly Bible study, and Sunday sermons.  Through all this, my eyes were opened to God and my desperate need for Christ.  As God would have it, my stubborn heart first became convicted of sin after nine months of this—all alone in my apartment with a television evangelist. That night, I asked God to forgive me and save me through His Son.  The next morning was Sunday; I was bubblin’.

Right away, I took a meeting with my fiance and another friend.  I announced radical changes that I would be making (I would learn later, this was only the beginning).  I was baptized, and began to testify among my friends and relatives of my repentance and faith.

My first years in the Lord involved a combination of rejoicing and tumult.  I am thankful that God placed me into deeper Bible studies.  By God’s grace, I was able to persevere in marriage and child rearing, all while still growing up myself!  I am thankful that today my entire family is walking in faith.  And every year, each of us sees more of how God is faithful to continue His work in us.

Well, that’s a minute.  Time’s up.  John 21:25 ~ And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.
