Be Kind. Rewind.

Today’s blog title is for those who remember the old days of VHS cassette rentals.  …I even remember when Beta/VHS was invented.  It was so weird, Man.

But isn’t that just a great philosophy?  It’s kind, to rewind.  Go back to the fork in the road.  Head back north, to where things first went south.  Maybe you’ve burned a few bridges.  So, what?  There are many roads that lead home.  BE CREATIVE.

Mom and I were talking today about somebody she knows that won’t back down.  They’re right, and that’s that.  Period.  They haven’t spoken to some of their kids in ages.   Mom said, almost in tears, “If one of my kids had issue with me, if I had to I’d crawl on my hands and knees, begging them just to let me be there.”  Yeah, that was pretty awesome for a daughter to hear.  BE CORNY.

I have a friend who’s gone through these cycles a few times in his life.  Early on he was a The Quiet Man.  Then he became Mr. Congeniality.  Later, after getting hurt one too many times, he slowly became basically a recluse.  He didn’t care at all. (Or he didn’t think he did.)  Finally, a course of events caused him to… BE COURAGEOUS.

Do you have a broken relationship?  Or is there one that’s still there, but icy-dicey?  Are you reeling with pain over something they did?  Or torn to bits over what you did?  Does it feel so wrong, you can’t imagine making it right?  BE CHRISTIAN.

Matthew 5:44  44 But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
Ephesians 4:32  32  Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other
Matthew 6:14-15  14  For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
