My re-mix of an article from the Christian Post:
A LEADER MUST BE…
Known, Wise, & Understanding
Deut. 1:13 Choose wise and discerning and experienced men from your tribes, and I will appoint them as your heads.
Psalm 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments
Tested in leadership capacity
Luke 16:10 He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.
Fears and Trusts in the True God
Prov. 29:25 The fear of man brings a snare, But he who trusts in the Lord will be exalted.
Psalm 2:10-12 Take warning, O judges of the earth. Worship the Lord with reverence And rejoice with trembling. Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, For His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!
Fearless of man
Deut. 1:17 You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not fear man, for the judgment is God’s.
Luke 12:4-5 “I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!
Exodus 18:21 you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders
From Deut. 17 you shall surely set a king over you whom the Lord your God chooses, one from among your countrymen… you may not put a foreigner over yourselves… Moreover, he shall not multiply horses for himself… nor shall he greatly increase silver and gold for himself.
Guided by God’s Word
From Deut. 17 …he shall write for himself a copy of this law on a scroll… It shall be with him and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, by carefully observing all the words of this law and these statutes, that his heart may not be lifted up above his countrymen and that he may not turn aside from the commandment, to the right or the left…
Psalm 112:1 How blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who greatly delights in His commandments.
2 Chron. 19:6-7 you do not judge for man but for the Lord who is with you when you render judgment. Now then let the fear of the Lord be upon you; be very careful what you do, for the Lord our God will have no part in unrighteousness or partiality or the taking of a bribe.”
Matthew 5:37 But let your statement be, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil.
