Indispensible Letter!

False/Dangerous teaching

Reason why dangerous

I say this so that no one will delude you with persuasive argument

See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

Tradition is WORTHLESS.  Christ is GOD; in Him we’re COMPLETE; He is the HEAD. In Him our FLESH is REMOVED.   We were RAISED through FAITH in the working of GOD… He made you ALIVE… FORGIVEN… canceled… decrees against us…  NAILED IT TO THE CROSS. …DISARMED THE RULERS…

Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— things which are a mere shadow

The SUBSTANCE belongs to CHRIST.

self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions… fleshly mind…

These things can DEFRAUD of the PRIZE if the person listens to a man who is “INFLATED without cause by his FLESHLY mind…” because it causes the person NOT to hold fast to the HEAD, from whom the entire body… grows with a GROWTH WHICH IS FROM GOD.

“Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” commandments and teachings of men… self-made religion… self-abasement and severe treatment of the body

Things destined to PERISH with use)… have, to be sure, the APPPEARANCE of wisdom in SELF-MADE religion…  of NO VALUE AGAINST FLESHLY INDULGENCE

What has Christ done for us?

rescued us from the domain of darkness,
and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds,
yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death,
in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach—
When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh,
He made you alive together with Him,
having forgiven us all our transgressions,
having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us;
and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities,
He made a public display of them,
having triumphed over them through Him.

What we have in Christ

redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
reconciled… through death… before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach
rooted… being built up in Him and established in your faith… gratitude.
made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority
circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ
buried with Him in baptism… also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.
He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.

Excellent Advice

consider… your earthly body as dead to
immorality, impurity,
passion, evil desire, and greed
put them all aside:
anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech
Do not lie to one another
put on the new self who is being renewed …
If we confess our sins, He is faithful… to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
put on a heart of
and patience;
bearing with one another,
and forgiving each other,
whoever has a complaint against anyone;
just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.
…put on love…the perfect bond of unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts…
and be thankful.
Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you,
with all wisdom
teaching and admonishing one another…
singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Whatever you do… do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks…
Wives, be subject to your husbands…
Husbands, love your wives…
Children, be obedient to your parents…
Fathers, do not exasperate your children…
Slaves… obey those who are your masters on earth…with sincerity of heart…
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord… It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Masters, grant to your slaves justice and fairness…
Devote yourselves to prayer…
with an attitude of thanksgiving…
Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders…
Let your speech always be with grace…
