“The Words I Would Say”

Maybe you’re familiar with the Sidewalk Prophets song, “The Words I Would Say”:

= – =

Be strong in the Lord and
Never give up hope
You’re going to do great things
I already know
God’s got His hand on you so
Don’t live life in fear
Forgive and forget
But don’t forget why you’re here
Take your time and pray
These are the words I would say

= – =

Indeed!

Be STRONG

NEVER give up

God’s got HIS HAND on you

DO NOT fear

FORGIVE

Remember your PURPOSE

REST in the Lord

PRAY.

“These are the words I would say.”

= – =

What’s been on your plate this week?

Are you digesting it properly?

How about your responses to others?

Are you proving you’re the real deal?

Or is the verdict not yet in?

Forgiveness is the barometer.

It requires strength under control.

Never give up; God hasn’t!

Wounded soldier, don’t yield to fear.

Instead, rest in the Lord—and pray.

“These are the words I would say.”

= – =

Life isn’t always a bowl of cherries.

As for a box of chocolates, well, it’s brown alright!

[Did I just say that?  Out loud?]

Do not be gripped; rather, be strong!

God’s got His hand on you.

Remember why you are here, and carry on.

Note, I’m only speaking to those who believe—

Those who put their eggs in One Basket—

Those who know for a fact that,

Without Him, they’d have no hope.

But if that is you, if you are a saint…

= – =

Be strong in the Lord and
Never give up hope
You’re going to do great things
I already know
God’s got His hand on you so
Don’t live life in fear
Forgive and forget
But don’t forget why you’re here
Take your time and pray
These are the words I would say
