With, pride, contempt, bitterness, and rage,
We must carefully set the right stage,
For we all assume the conniving of man;
We’re ready to deal with any evil plan.

^^^In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths. ^^^

But what’s this we observe? No email or call?
No hassle? No harassment? No lawsuit at all?
No repercussions sent? No long argument?
No colored picket signs? No messengers sent?

^^^I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. ^^^

Well, just to be sure, we’d better take care:
Somebody: Stir some trouble over there!
Listen carefully; there’ll surely come a sound:
Nobody, these days, takes the higher ground!

^^^For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil to give you a future and a hope.^^^

Well… maybe this one did. She was different, I recall.
She always worked hard, never made trouble at all.
She always had a smile, and cared a great deal:
She said she was Christian. Maybe that was for real?

^^^And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.^^^

“No!” the devil says: It’s a mere coincidence.
She’ll take you to the cleaners if she gets the chance.
She believes in Jesus. How simplistic is that?
