Trees

= – =

As I drive through the country,

I see the great forests.

And within that beauty,

A number of groves.

= – =

I can’t help but think

Of God in His mercy,

Hanging on a Tree

For the sins of the droves.

= – =

The tree’s roots are hidden

Deep within the earth.

An anchor for the plant,

And the source of food.

= – =

I can’t help but think

Of God in His mercy,

Feeding and anchoring

His beloved brood!

= – =

The roots feed the trunk,

Protected by bark.

Raising leaves far above

Competition for sun.

= – =

Growth rings give breadth

To the life of the tree.

Adding strength every year,

They won’t be outdone!

= – =

I can’t help but think

Of God in His mercy,

Strengthening His plants

In the power of His Son!

= – =

The trunk feeds the branches,

Which are beautifully spread—

So the leaves, so connected,

Get more sun, wind, and rain.

= – =

I can’t help but think

Of God in His mercy,

Giving light to His children

…..Again and again.

= – =

Leaves are the thing:

They take in the light,

The water, and food,

To grow and reproduce.

= – =

I can’t help but think

Of God in His mercy,

Providing a Way

For us to grow and be used.

= – =

Let us consider the tree—

Its roots and its branches—

And remember the Lord,

Master Gardener—the Best.

= – =

May We Grow in His grace,

Be changed by His mercy,

Enjoy the Lord’s peace:

StandTall! And Be Blessed!

= – =

Psalm 1:1-3

Blessed is the one

who does not walk in step with the wicked

or stand in the way that sinners take

or sit in the company of mockers,

but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,

and who meditates on his law day and night.

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,

which yields its fruit in season

and whose leaf does not wither—

whatever they do prospers.
